I develop websites, digital publications and multimedia content for online communication, marketing and wider media projects. The work connects clear information, visual expression and practical usability, shaping ideas into content people can navigate, read, watch and hear.
As a web designer and multimedia content creator, I bring together creative development, editorial work and production. Each medium has its own language, from the way a website guides someone through an idea to the relationship between words, images and sound. The work takes shape at the desk, online and in the field, with the people and places behind a project.
A website needs clear content, intuitive navigation and a structure that helps people find their way. A presentation needs a thread that makes information understandable. A digital publication brings writing, images and layout together, while a screenplay develops an idea through scenes and sequences. Choosing a form is part of developing the idea itself.
I work on website concepts, content architecture, page layouts, presentations and editorial structures, alongside scripts, screenplays and storyboards. This can lead to a website, a digital publication, a presentation, a video, a documentary project or a set of connected assets, with production and coordination shaped around the project.
For Saint John’s Fire and Water, I wrote, directed and performed a ritual connecting narrative, place and community.
Many projects are experienced first through a website or a digital interface. Content, design and usability work together: what people understand depends on how information is organized, how they move through it and what they can do next.
I develop web projects through information architecture, page design, navigation, SEO-oriented content and publishing workflows. My advanced WordPress work includes site setup and configuration, theme and page-builder customization, plugin integration, multilingual structures, content migration and maintenance. The aim is a digital environment that expresses a project clearly and can evolve with it.
Examples include my own multilingual WordPress website, matteotrivelli.com, and the Posidonia Festival website at posidoniamallorca.org, connecting web design, content organization and multilingual publishing.
My earlier work also includes website development, SEO/SEM and web marketing for tourism and events businesses.
I also work with PHP, CSS and JavaScript to customize website layouts, functionality and interactions according to the needs of each project.
I create graphic materials and coordinate visual communication as part of wider web, editorial and multimedia projects, working with composition, layout, imagery and brand consistency. This includes hands-on production and creative direction, with specialist designers involved when a project calls for their expertise.
A practical example is my own visual identity: the AI-generated imagery used across this website, together with my logo and complete set of brand assets, developed through an integrated graphic and web design workflow. The AI Graphic Designer case study describes the process.
Another example is the visual communication developed across Posidonia Festival editions, including imagery, posters, programmes and digital materials, documented at posidoniafestival.net.
Further work in personal branding, graphic production and visual communication is documented on my LinkedIn profile.
Some material begins with research, writing, editing and visual composition. Other stories emerge through an interview, an event, a place or a conversation that could not have happened at a desk. I connect these stages, from preparation and story gathering to editorial development, production coordination and the assembly of material for publication.
Audiovisual production includes concepts, video and documentary projects, interviews and event documentation. I also work with audio content, both on its own and as part of multimedia projects. This work draws on experience across culture, sustainability, tourism, events and international projects, where the relationship between content and its real context matters.
I collaborate remotely and in person, coordinating online activities, content production and publishing with teams and independent contributors. Web and multimedia work can support ongoing online communication, marketing activities and individual projects, from preparation through publication.
Across Posidonia Festival and other events and projects, I have coordinated and directed video production, often editing the material myself, from promotional videos to event documentation and content for online communication. See the Posidonia Festival and Posidonia Forum project.
My earlier multimedia work also includes live streaming coordination with Barcelona Multimèdia / Streaming Barcelona.
Multimedia content creation extends across all types of media, including social media. The work is multimodal — combining text, images, audio, video and interfaces — and multichannel, adapting material to the places where people will encounter it.
An interview may become a longer story, a short video, a presentation or a series of social excerpts. Adaptation means rethinking length, rhythm, visual hierarchy and context for each use, while keeping the meaning intact. Campaign direction, social media strategy and the relationship between these touchpoints are developed within Communications and Human Stories.
Multimedia work also involves organizing content as structured data: texts, images, metadata and reusable assets that can move between websites, publications and other formats. Audience research, usage data, relevant KPIs and feedback help guide decisions about navigation, usability, content and presentation, supporting improvements after publication.
AI has become another part of this production environment. I bring the experience accumulated through AI system design into research, visual exploration, graphic and presentation workflows, script development and content adaptation. Connected workflows can help organize source material and carry an idea through several stages of production.
The creative work still involves choices: what to show, what to leave out, how a sequence feels and whether the result says what it needs to say. I combine desk and field production with AI-supported methods according to the material, the medium and the purpose of the project.
I develop and use AI-powered workflows to connect research, visual exploration, graphic production, script development and content adaptation across media.
